    Internal Wireless Card Drivers

I have an IBM 802.11 a/b/g and a D-Link 802.11b router. I was abe to hookup through a wired connection via the router. Now I am trying to get wireless. I went to my tech guy and he tried a few things, but didn't have time to really work on it, plus I would rather learn this myself so I learn Linux versus just using Linux. I also called IBM, since I knew they are very supportive of the Linux communities. They said that for my R50 they do not yet have drivers, but that they are forthcomming. I just wondered if there is any kind of generic driver that might work??
