My friend's has a laptop, of which the hdd has more or less died ('error loading operating system' - fails to install anything/anything writing to hdd.)

So, as he's waiting to buy a new hdd[or not] - the first thing that came to mind was letting him try and use a LiveCD before he goes and buys a new laptop hdd. Just out of popularity (see here) I decided to go with SLAX.

The guy's still using dial-up (AOL). I guess the only way to get around this would be to save the KPPP settings to a an external source(?)

tl;dr: How do I go about saving the settings for KPPP - and what settings should I use for AOL dialup?
