what mean is that even after changing the hostname on my server
it still return that old hostname if do
> host 192.168.0.11 domain.com
it returns:
Using domain server:
Name: domain.com
Address: 192.168.0.11#53
Aliases:
11.0.168.192.in-addr.arpa domain name pointer old.hostname.
but the old.hostname should be my just set new hostname...
why is it still pointing to old.hostname?

Ok. Got it. What did you do in order to change the hostname? Did you also update your definitions in /var/lib/named for your net?

Change your Hostname without Rebooting in RedHat Linux
i am running a redhat like version too.
the directory named is located somewhere else on my server
just like the xenocafe.com site describes.
