Ubuntu 7.10 Gusty, cannot copy files to my NAS device

I have installed Ubuntu 7.10 Gusty on 2 laptops and am experiencing the same problem on both. I cannot copy and paste files from the local hard drive to the NAS device. I get an error that says "not enough free space". This only happens when I use the GUI file explorer in the Gnome desktop. I can however copy the files over using the command prompt. On a third laptop running the same distro but with the KDE dektop, I dont have the issue. Any thoughts? I am not getting many responses on the Ubuntu forums for this problem.

Nobody is even touching this one no matter where I post it. Could it be some strange bug that should be reported?
