    Setting up Linksys card

    I am using a Linksys wmp54g pci card on slackware 10, using the instructions found at

    I am fine until i get to Bringing up your NIC. When I use the command /sbin/modprobe ndiswrapper I don't get an error message, but then when I check the sys log, the divert: ... entry doesn't show up, only the wlan0:... entry

    solved but now i need to set essid
    (whenever i try to set essid using iwconfig wlan0 essid <name> and then check iwconfig later, the settings never change and essid is still at default )
