Linux Server Not Visible in Active Directory
I setup Linux Enterprise Edition. I can ping the server by IP address only, we do not use WINS. I have the following issues I'm trying to resolve. Any assistance is appreciated.
1. Using netstat -a/A returns "unreachable host name".
2. From the run line on a windows box, i can use UNC and the servers IP address (\\4.x.x.x\share) to a share but I cannot use the servers name (\\NPCN-LINUXTEST) and recieve a response.
3. We have an existing Windows Active Directory Domain(Windows 2003) that we are adding the Linux servers to.
4. Linux box not visible in network neighborhood but i can connect to shares on other windows servers within the domain.
