How are drivers installed in Linux? (Mandrake 10.0)
I am absolutely new to linux. I've just installed Mandrake 10.0 and cannot connect to the Internet. I downloaded some drivers for my modem (Intel 536EP) but have no idea how to install them. I do not even know how to find them as they were saved under Windows XP on a different partition. Would anyone guide me, please!
Many thanks!

After reading the guide to asking good questions I started looking for answers in the forum.
I hope I'll find the answer on my own.
However I appreciate your help, if you can spare some minutes.
For me, at this point, Linux is just a completely new world.

I read the answer to a question related to my problem:
Getting internet through Dial Up
"you can use kppp program and select firstly query modem to see if linux recognises it...then make all the isp configuration as in windows"
I did use the kppp program even before asking my first question here!
Query modem did not detect my modem. So I guess Linux does not recognize it.
