Hi All,

I have got the problem, that my pptp vpn tunnel goes down from time to time. Following entries can be found in the log:

2004:09:08-12:50:24 (none) pppd-pptp[4825]: sent [LCP EchoReq id=0x66 magic=0xbafe0941]
2004:09:08-12:50:44 (none) pppd-pptp[4825]: sent [LCP EchoReq id=0x67 magic=0xbafe0941]
2004:09:08-12:51:04 (none) pppd-pptp[4825]: sent [LCP EchoReq id=0x68 magic=0xbafe0941]
2004:09:08-12:51:16 (none) pptpd[4824]: CTRL: EOF or bad error reading ctrl packet length.
2004:09:08-12:51:16 (none) pptpd[4824]: CTRL: couldn't read packet header (exit)
2004:09:08-12:51:16 (none) pptpd[4824]: CTRL: CTRL read failed
2004:09:08-12:51:16 (none) pptpd[4824]: CTRL: Closing child BCrelay with pid 0
2004:09:08-12:51:16 (none) pptpd[4824]: CTRL: Closing child ppp with pid 4825
2004:09:08-12:51:16 (none) pptpd[4824]: CTRL: Client 212.34.163.76 control connection finished
2004:09:08-12:51:16 (none) pptpd[4824]: CTRL: Exiting now

The tunnel is up but after a certain time, the connection goes down. The internet connection is still there.
I am connected through modem/ISDN to the Internet. OS is Windows 2000 SP4. I think PPTP Server receives no answer to the LCP request. The timeout and number of LCP packets is already increased. Has anybody an idea. Is it ithe (Slow) connection from clientside? What does the error EOF or bad error reading ctrl packet length mean?

Thanks
