i have confi.. the vsftpd when i am trying to use the this the error

Check the vsftpd.conf to see if the following line is hashed # out

# Uncomment this to allow local users to log in.
#local_enable=YES

Remove the hash #

# Uncomment this to allow local users to log in.
local_enable=YES

Restart vsftpd

just a quick warning with vsftpd, if you run into errors after editting the permissions (to make it easier for other users on the machine to dump stuff into the ftp home directory) set the root user to have read only access, others to read only, and users and such can have read/write. this will keep it functioning for everyone while making it easier to throw crap into the /home/ftp folder.

(i editted the permissions using thunar as root)
