Qwest/Gates Conspiracy? Or simply paranoia.
First time Forum user. 2/25. Had a great experience accessing internet on Mandriva Linux Toshiba A205 S5000 via my niece's wify through QWEST one month ago in Seattle. Arrived back here yesterday to find my browsing experience terrible to nonexistent via same setup. Am presently on Vista, yet running exact same browser---Firefox. Experience wonderful! Can someone help me sort through this paranoia with a dose of reality?
PS I just noticed that this thread is from 2006. So I really do not expect a reply. I'll keep researching.

I'd definitely check out DNS as mentioned above. Have a look at :

OpenDNS.org solved problem
OpenDNS.org solved the problem. For now? Bypassing Qwest's DNS servers did the trick. Thanks. However... past two days Mandriva Linux would not connect to wify. Just seems odd. No wify connection (qwest still). And then one hour ago linux did connect. Had to use Vista all dayuntil it did. Life is tough sometimes!
