Where to Start?
Hello! I'm currently trying to learn to use Linux Ubuntu for networking purposes. I have a decent background in networking with windows but everyone keeps telling me that Linux is making its way more and more into the scene. What are some basic things that I should start learning? Right now I have a junky old dell laptop running Ubuntu, a toshiba laptop running Vista and an old Cisco 2900 switch. Any suggestions would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Welcome to the forums and to Linux!

Check the link in my signature for lots of good information on getting started with Linux.
If you want to learn the Linux command line, I recommend checking out LinuxCommand.org for some quick and easy lessons.
Check the following thread for some free online Linux ebooks:

With a little web searching, you should be able to find plenty of networking oriented ebooks, as well.
Hope you will have fun running Linux.oz
