    FTP configuration

    I'm a new user in mandrake I want to set up a FTP server . Then 2 client can access that to upload and download .What should i do? what the requirement for FTP server

    just download ncftp (meant to be the best ftp ) and make sure that you have port 21 open.if you use suse using yast open the services section and there you just set the path you have installed the ftp server.then set active the service and that's all.(all pc 's in your network should have installed the ftp client).in other distro's take a look at /etc/xinetd or inid for manual configuration..a good program to check which ports are oipen is nmap frotend...google it ,download it and do all the above!
