damn small linux networking question
heres a sample of what my ipconfig /all looks like
ethernet adapter local area connection
nvidia nforce
physical address : **-**-**-**-**-**
DhCp enabled : no
ip address: 192.168.1.101
subnet mask: 255.255.255.0
default gateway: 192.168.1.1
DNS servers: **.**.***.*** , **.**.***.***
i originally was trying DHCP and then turned it off, and entered these settings.
nothing happens when i hit apply and the internet never loads; can someone more familiar with linux explain what i did wrong?
i dont know if this helps or not; puppylinux, knoppix, or basically any other linux live cd other than DSL automatically loads the internet when i boot up.

Perhaps try:
Or whatever the DSL command is.Code:/etc/init.d/networking restart
