Hi Guys.. I have a basic silly doubt.. If someone asks me to explain what is 802.11 standard.. Im blank..
Cananyone please tell a short for this..

802.11 is the IEEE's standard for wireless local area networks (well, a part of a standards family) ... basically, wifi is based on that standards.

You're asking us to distill a very complicated topic into a few sentences. What is the general level of computer knowledge these people have that are asking you about 802.11? For most people a simple, "It's a set of specifications for wireless networks." is good enough. You don't have to explain the difference between a/b/g/n (mostly just speed) to them unless they're really interested.
