    Can squid proxy do this?

    Hello all,

OK I want to access UK TV from abroad. I have a debian 5 vps setup and running in the UK and I wanted to set up a proxy server on this so that I can use it to fool the IP check used when viewing internet TV. I don't really want to have an anonymous setup.
I read once somewhere on the internet that a squid proxy can do this. However as I've discovered, a squid proxy can do many things and I'm having problems finding any good how to's or tutorials to set this up. First of all the main problem I'm having is, well what is this proxy server setup called?
Is it a transparent proxy server, is it tunneling?
Please, I'd be grateful if anyone could tell me what this type of setup is called and where I can find a good how / tutorial to set this up.

    thanks in advance
