    Red face I have small basic doubt with DCHp

    Hi all.. I have a small basic doubt, regarding the DHCP protocol..
    I connect the DHCP client to a network.. how do the client know to reach the specific server only..
    Is that the client sends a broadcast packet to know the server..
    Please anyone explain this..

    It's the bcast ip, each subnet has a network id, and broadcast ip.
    and there is only one DHCP server in a subnet.

    So if there are 100 rooms and 1 wc in a house. every one knows where to go.
