Ubuntu picks up cable modem, Puppy doesn't
Hi. I'm a noob. Please use all of the tech vocab in your answers, but explain them carefully. I'd like to learn all that I can, but I don't have much background in computers. Thanks.
Ubuntu and Xubuntu read my Motorola Surfboard SBV5120 cable modem via USB "out of the box"; Puppy LInux doesn't. The computer I've run them on doesn't support ethernet, so it has to be via USB. Please, what can I do to get Puppy online?
Computer: Systemax
Processor: AMD athlon
Memory: 189 Mb
Hard drive: 40 Gb
Thanks!
