    Question [SOLVED] WINS/Netbios and linux

    Hello everyone,

I know it is a dumb question but I could not easily find an answer.

How does linux broadcast its WINS/Netbios name?

My debian box worked great for a week and I could access it anywhere from the network with its name but now I cannot for some reason. I was wondering how can I re-broadcast it.

    Thanks in advance.

I believe it broadcasts every fifteen minutes or so,
just like Windows. There are a lot of tricks to the
    configuration though.

Thanks for the response. It helped to look into the issue.

It appears that I somehow removed line with "WINS SERVER ="
