    Hostname Cuase Lag in Starting Sendmail


    after Changing my Hostname something other than Localhost.localdomain in the network configuration file on Fedora core 2 , every time at starting time of Fedora when starting Sendmail it takes so long time to start the sendmail so what's wrong what's related and cause what i get and thanks

    try add a line like the following to /etc/hosts
    Code:
    192.168.0.205 computername computername.domanname
    where you replace the IP with your IP and the computername and domainname of your computer

    You also have to change the hostname in /etc/sysconfig/network . That is the placement of the file in RHEL3, and RH 9, so I think FC2 put it there too.

    As soon as you can find the IP of your hostname with 'host `hostname`', you should be good.
