Those who have experience with OpenLDAP... and Mac

I am systems administator of the university CS lab.

I have a Mac here and I'm trying to extend the directory to our OpenLDAP server. We use NFS as well. Can anyone help me? I know nothing of Macs in this respect except for the fact that they already have LDAP on them, which seems to be convenient.

    Thank you for your help!

(sorry I've no exp with that or Apple doco, but just likewise thought I should warn that this seems a strange place to ask.)

I know that this is the wrong place to post this. Where do you think I should post it?

(Your/a Moderator's move to "Linux Networking" seems best place here. An even more relevant site will presumably be revealed from your net-searching for an answer.)
Hope maybe you get away with just configuring iMail(?) with LDAP server.
