This sounds a bit weird but I am missing a step.

On my server I am setting up ADSL for an Internet connection. This uses pppoe and the connection is opened with pon dls-provider from a command prompt.

Works well. The public DNS and the ISP dynamic IP both show up as soon as the connection is established.

If I look at ifconfig I can see the interfaces and this adds a ppp0 interface when the session is open.

What I do not know is how to use the Internet connection on the server. There is no service there. Running commands of say ping, tracert, apt-get update do not work at all.

How do I get the server to connect to the connection?
