Hi all i want to ask if there is a way to change messages from a linux box to a windows box via ethernet.Exactly i use yoper linux and my box is connected with mine friends box which has windows xp.We establish an ethernet connection between the two boxes and i throw Smb4K have samba and i browse his files.Also we have an ssh client which runs from windows and my friend can connect from windows with ssh to my machine.How can we exchange messages like chat between our's machines?

Ah. Good fun. Install jabberd, the jabber daemon. Then both of you can connect to the same jabber server using gaim (there are both Windows and Linux clients). There may be a pre-compiled binary for Yoper. More information on jabber, and how open and cool it is can be found: http://jabber.org here.
