cable internet connection
I need help setting up an internet connection that works through a direct cable hooked up to the Ethernet port. I dual boot Win xp and Suse 9.2 pro.
Under xp I had to set up a static IP and Gateway for the Ethernet card, and then, and this is where I'm lost under Linux, I had to set up a VPN, where I had to enter another IP (or Host) similar to the first one. The VPN has a dialer where I enter my username and pass, like a classic modem connection. Please help! Thnk you.
PS: I've been told the VPN thing can be replaced with ppp, in linux, but I wouldn't know how to do that.
