Unhappy Ububtu Netbook Remix Broadcom issue

    Hi Everybody,

Just installed Netbook Remix and having the same problem as before with SuSe. System recognizes my router but when i try to connect the wireless icon keeps flashing up and down but does not connect. Could i use the same fix as before or will the instructions within the terminal be different to SuSe. I believe it has something to do with the system loading a Broadcom driver which needs to be blocked!. Managed to get my 3 Dongle working though. Any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks.

Ubuntu has a Drivers Manager app that should be able to install the correct driver for you.

Failing that, from the terminal do
    sudo apt-get install bcmwl-kernel-source bcmwl-modaliases
FYI, it's helpful if you include all pertinent information in new posts, such as your wireless card chipset. Most people will not go searching for your old posts to get that info.

Oh well i thought " It's not going to work. Went back to the desktop when all of a sudden and totally unexpected i was connected. It does connect under " auto 3-A2A5 ". I am not sure what that means ( auto, that is ) but for the time being will leave well alone. In the meantime will take not of code posted for future reference!.
