If you have Windows PCs accessing shared folders on the
Linux server, the server software is called samba

Samba - opening windows to a wider world

You will need to study it, because it is complex, with lots
of configuration options. You will probably find the configuration
    file at /etc/samba/smb.conf

If you post it here, maybe a samba expert can point out
    something you need to change.
