Question Failed to ping with network

    HI ALL,

I'm using SUPERMICRO X7DBE as my LINUX server. Behind the server there is two network ports. The upper port can ping-to the network, but I can't ping through the lower port. Do I need to configure the IP address and gateway before it allow me to ping to the network?? Please advise me!

    Thanks all..

In general: yes. You need to setup a IP before you can ping.

Can you describe your network layout and also what you try to achieve with the second NIC?
Shall it be in another network segment or in the same?
The later would need nic bonding setup.

    What is the output of:
    Code:
    ifconfig -a
    route -n
You must always face the curtain with a bow.
