    FTP Problem

    Hi All ,

    We are using Linux 2.1 Advanced Server . We have enabled wu-ftpd on our server . When we try to FTP to this server we get following response . What must have gone wrong ? We are using default settings as far as FTP-config files are concerned .
    $ftp myserver
    Connected to myserver.
    500 myserver FTP server shut down -- please try again later.

    Please help .

    Disable = yes

    Is set in /etc/xinetd.d/wu-ftpd or you have an invalid configuration. Try reverting to exactly what it was at installation time. You can do this by first making a backup:

    rpm -ql wu-ftpd > arch_list.txt &&
    tar czf backup_wu.tar.gz -T arch_list.txt

    Then run 'rpm -e --nodeps wu-ftpd' to remove the package. Then you can run 'up2date -u wu-ftpd' to install the default package.

    I can almost guarantee there is an error in one of your syslog files stating exactly why this is failing.

    I respectfully decline the invitation to join your delusion.
