DOS attacks

hi,
I want to generate and test the DOS attack resistance for my code......For that i have downloaded SYN flood source code and i compiled that source code.........Can any one help me out how to generate and test the dos attacks?

This time, I do understand your reasoning.
But putting the knowledge on a public forum, steps to actually generate that type of attack, would still be in violation of the rules.
The reason is that anyone reading those steps could then use them to attack, well... anybody.

The same thing would happen if I were to ask, for example, how to brute force a password. Even if I wanted to use that knowledge for the defensive purposes, some miscreant or ne'er do well could come along and learn how to crack into a system for other, malicious purposes.
