first posting .. forum won't allow me to post IPs so I can't post ifconfig info.
RH 5.6
why can my windows 7 PC ping my Linux server on the NIC 0 which has an IP set by DHCP
but fail (timeout) on NIC 1 which has a fixed IP address?
I try to post more info but the forum won't allow anything with numbers (until I've posted 15 times)
I can ping from other windows and other linux boxes to fixed IP.. only on the Window 7 does it failLast edited by ZenMusic; 11-28-2011 at 08:52 PM.

It's not numbers that the forum software disallows, but things like http, ftp, and @ that it won't allow until you've made at least 15-posts. You can check the following thread for some temporary workarounds to the 15-posts requirement:
