    Modem configuration and internet connection

    I am using SUSE Linux 9.1. During installation, my modem (HSP56 micromodem) is detected and configured, but I can't connect to the internet. Nothing happens when I click the dial-up. What are the factores to be considered during the modem configuration.

    have a look at the tutorial section of this forum for the post on using Winmodems with Linux. You may find some of the display commands to be of use.
