Ubuntu-can't get auto dhcp to work :(
I am an Ubuntu 10.10 user. I have some issues getting my wired network(eth0) to connect to the dhcp server.
I have come across that my /var/run/dhclient.eth0.pid shows the following:
syntax error. Last token seen: d Garbled time
I am guessing my dhclient is not working properly. And I dunno why!!
I have another Ubuntu system with 11.04 and the same log file under /var/run/dhclient.etho.pid has a PID number.
That apart, the two systems use the same network config, auto eth0, automatic dhcp in my NM.
The resolv.conf has the right namerservers.
Any idea how I can fix this??
Thansk in advance
