dial up to a Linux box
Hey guys im also a newbie,
how can I set my Redhat to act like an ISP for me?
I want to dial from any machine to My redhat and it should assign me an IP so im part of the network the redhat box is in.
the server obviously has a modem.
please be very specific so i can follow instructions

Use a crossover cable to connect the nics.
Set-up dhcp on the gateway box. Set-up the clinet box to receive it's IP via dhcp.Me & Myself just ganged up on I....... Now We all have problems..and none of Us are speaking!

actually, you need a ppp daemon running on the server, a program to answer the phone and pass off the signal to the ppp daemon. and probably a few other things that i can't think of.
Their code will be beautiful, even if their desks are buried in 3 feet of crap. - esr
