    Wired Network Not Accessible

    hi,
I configured debian squeeze through expert install. During installation the detect network hardware screen went blank for a long time. I breaked the detect network screen and installed squeeze completely. Everything is working fine except the network connection is unavailable. When i click the systray network icon it shows Wired Network (Intel 82557/8/9/0/1 Ethernet Pro 100 and below shows disconnected. Can anyone guide me as I am totally new to debian.
