    Desktop CLuster

    Hi,

I am planning to build my own Linux Desktop Cluster, because I have some unuses Computers.

I have found a lot informations about software solution for it (Beowulf, (open)Mosix, torque, OpenSSI and so on), but the posts and comments are 5 years old or older.

Has someone here experience and impressions about Desktop Clusters an the software solutions?

My plan is that my Workstation can move Jobs to other nodes/computer automatically, to balance the load and use the capacity, which is not used otherwise.

    Thx a lot.

It will mostly depend on what you are going to do with your cluster. Maybe BOINC does what you want? BOINC is still actively developed and widely used in cloud computing projects.
