is "tor" is bad word or can we discuss it?

Hi all... I was looking at the TOR system and had some questions about it and took a look here but no " tor " could be found. Is it a bad word or don't we discuss it's good and bad here? I hate to violate any rules, even ones I don't know about..

    Thanks

I know of no reason why tor can't be discussed, nor do I know why you couldn't find it with a search.

Tor is a three letter word. Depending on the database engine and settings used here, it may be considered to short to be indexed.

Ah there you go, a search for tor returns

The following words are either very common, too long, or too short and were not included in your search:
    tor
    [/edit]
"I used to be with it, then they changed what it was.
Now what was it isn't it, and what is it is weird and scary to me.
    It'll happen to you too."

Well, there was no hit on tor with spaces at both ends. I don't know if the search does both upper/lower case, but I didn't find anything...

Some of the things I was interested in were the configuration of items like a relay and what you have to do to be sure it's properly installed so it isn't tracked easily. I understand the basics of how it works but have many questions about configuration. I was hoping that someone here is doing something or if I had to dig into the tor network to get useful information on installation. There are some there, but they seem to be missing things to link them together. I'll continue both searches and hope I hear from someone, anywhere...

    Thanks for the reply...

Well, I used the quoted string " tor " to ensure spaces on both sides. When I searched with only tor I got a number of things but no just tor entries. I assume it does some sort of search in the string and not as words???

    Thanks

The tor website has fairly complete and detailed instructions for installing a relay and making sure it is working. If you've followed those and still have problems, I can try to help you. I've been running a tor relay for awhile with no issues. The setup can be a little tricky for those who have never tried it, but it's not that difficult.
