    How to discover domain availability from linux?


    domain has now status PendingDelete at: Whois Lookup - - WHOIS, DNS, & Domain Info - DomainTools

    But from linux im getting no records (like its available for registration:

    nslookup -type=ns
    ** server can't find NXDOMAIN
    whois -f
    [Redirected to]
    No match
    Please which linux commands i can do which tell me the domain is available for registration? Thank you

    Check the Linux dig tool. You probably want to check with whoever had that domain registered before they usually have their own rules for dealing with holding period before expiring a domain, sometimes they have waiting lists for a domain name.

    i read that man page, but i cant figure out what would be the commands in my case.
