    WG511 not working

    Hello,

I have followed the various guides on this board to install the WG511. After first installing Mandrake 10.1 it recognizes my card by does not configure it. When I follow the guide to update the firmware, it ceases to report my card with "cardctl ident." It also says "no wireless extensions" under "iwconfig" and it used to list my card. I have no idea what to do at this point. All I know at this point is:

1 - my card is made in china

2 - my results for 'lspci -v' are:

Network controller: Intersil Corporation Intersil ISL3890 [PPrism GT/Prism Duette] (rev 1)
#2 could read that way because I installed the latest firmware.

Does anyone have any ideas on how I can get this working? I specifically ordered the WG511 last week on Amazon so I wouldn't have to use ndiswrapper.

    Hey,
The Made in China cards are little bastards. They don't seem to work :/
sorry, but you'll have to either get a new wg511 that's made in taiwan, try another wifi card (i've had decent luck with my dlink dwl 122 802.11b as well), or just use ndiswrapper/linuxant driverloader.
