fc3 problem connecting to a w2k server
Dear all
First of all i am using FC3. I can see the server i want to conect i can ping the server i want to connect i can do pretty much everything BUT when i go to Applications->Network servers i can see all the computers in my network when i double click on pc_server (w2k server) it gives me the following error message:
The folder contents could not be displayed. You do not have the permissions necessary to view the contents of "windows network: pc_server"
i have noticed also that in the window before on the very top displays windows network: pc_server on pc_server. My win login is chva so i believe that if somehow make it say chva on pc_server we are on the right way
. I believe that it might have something to do with my smb.conf file or maybe not. Any suggestions please.
I am logging in as root in my fc3. Thank you in advance for your help.

fc3 accessing windows shares
I was looking for an answer to this for days. I had RH8, and RH WS and no problems installed FC3 my windows shares weren't accessible anymore.
Answer or at least a way around going through Network icon. Open File browser in location bar type smb://server/sharename you will get prompet for username, domain and password.
Hope it works for you too.
FC3 is a big gain to becoming competative to Windows. The inclusion of Firefox that automatically downloads and installed plug-ins, and the exchange connector in Evolution is it greatest assest.
