    Smile Network Monitoring Software

    Hi,

I have a need to implement a network monitoring software which can get the following information from it.

    1. Automatic network nodes discovery
    2. Total bandwidth usage of the LAN
    3. Tracking high bandwidth consuming nodes ( Top talkers )
    4. Showing historical data ( hourly, daily, weeksly, monthly )

Could you tell me a simple software that can be installed with minimum effort and used to get the above required data?

    Thank you.

I'm not going to write you a book when it's already been written:

Network Monitoring Using Free Linux Tools

And if that doesn't float your boat there's:

    Bandwidth Monitoring Tools For Linux

    or

80 Linux Monitoring Tools for SysAdmins

    Enjoy!
