    is possible comment/label in routing table?


    is possible to add some identifier to route with iproute command?

    I can be found either 40 miles west of Chicago, in Chicago, or in a galaxy far, far away.
    What distribution / version / kernel of Linux are you using? RHEL and derived distributions don't have iproute - they use the route command. AFAIK, there is no comment/annotation capability. That said, you can add comments to the appropriate /etc/iproute2 files.
    Sometimes, real fast is almost as good as real time.

    yes, there isn't iproute command

    Iproute2 is a collection of network utilities and it's included in almost every distro by default.

    You could check your OS depending on distibution.

    rpm -qli iproute -> RHEL/CentOS
    rpm -qli iproute2 -> SLES
    dpkg -L iproute2 -> Debian


    As far as I know you can label ip interface or link. For labeling routes I am not sure.
