    blocking yahoo messenger connected using gaim

    Can anybody help me in blocking yahoo messenger connected via gaim?
    Squid doesn't seem to work Please help.Thank you.Distro is mandrake 8.1 Vitamin.

    Well... you could turn it off in Gaim, or you could root around the gaim source and remove some elements that have to do with Yahoo messenger, and re-compile. Or you could just find what ports yahoo uses (will require a little research, and most likely a netstat) and just drop packtes on those ports.....

    to find the ports, connect to yahoo, then type

    netstat

    you will see all the network connections you currently have active, idealy you can tell whitch of those is connected to something like 23m.yahoo.com and see whitch ports its active on. Or just see if yahoo.com has the information somwhere...

    Thanks for the response.I think i need to mention the problem a little clearly.

    The gaim appliaction is running on windows xp machine.It is connected to internet through a linux box acting as a gteway having mandrake 8.1(Vitamin).I want to block it at the gateway.How can i do that ?Please respond if possible specifying what i should do.Thank you.
