Mounted Windows XP SMB Share Times Out, Even When Active
I have Cerberus FTP Server Running on the Windows XP box (server) and I have a share (//andy/jedilinux) containing all of the project code mounted as /mnt/server on my Laptop, which is running an Rsync Server.
The problem is that the share will seemingly time out, that is, my linux box will 'lose contact' with it, and the only way to fix it is to umount and remount. Here's a typical session:
smbmount //andy/jedilinux /mnt/server -o Lakerdonald >Password: rsync --daemon --no-detach --config="/etc/rsyncd.conf" ... ... cd /mnt/server
umount -fl /mnt/server smbmount //andy/jedilinux /mnt/server -o Lakerdonald ... ...
