Network disconnects
Hi
recently I upgraded a server to SuSE9.2. The network card is an "IBM NetFinity 10/100 Fast Ethernet" using module "pcnet32".
The network (192.168.1.x) works fine for an average of 7 min before it disconnects and after about 1 min automaticaly reconnects. There are no log messages that could give a hint.
The system was working fine with an SuSE 8.1.

Network disconnects
To exclude a hardware problem, I added another NIC (Broadcom 1GB), disabeld the on-board (IBM) one and configured the new NIC also fo the same network. Even with the new NIC the problem persistes.

Ok, are you connectedto a HUB/SWITCH?
Have you tried to change port on this HUB/SWITCH?

It is connected to a switch, and I've changed ports. Three other Linux boxes (one still with 8.1 and two with 9.1) are all working fine without any dropouts.

Just to make sure, have you tried to switch cables as well? Your Ethernet TP cable that is.
Otherwise, just to make a test, set a static IP on this computer if you're on DHCP right now. Could be your dhcp-client that has got into some kind of "glitch"
