    [SOLVED] connecting with a cable modem


    I just switched over to mandrake linux 10.1 and i love what i see so far, but i cannot connect to the internet.
    I have comcast cable and am connected with it by an ethernet cable.

    set your nic to dhcp i think the ifconfig command will do it
    Code:
    ifconfig <name of interface> dhcp
    this should also be set in the network config file
