get FC3 or RHEL, or CentOS, RH9 is outdated. and gnome has somthing like that i think

you can use LinNeighborhood .
Thats what we use here on our LAN. Though I prefer nautilus in GNOME,
where you can view other win* machines by typing smb:/// .
P.S. This is for viewing win machines or machines running samba.
