How to load PPP module at startup?
Recently after re-installing my MDK10.0 on a new computer, startup dmseg shows a failed load ppp0 message (error 4). ppp is needed for a modem connection to work properly on dial-up with an ISP.
Is there a straightforward way (at console or otherwise) to ensure ppp modules load at startup? I can edit (with vim) the rc.local scripts if needed. I just don't know which to edit and the modprobe syntax for the standard ppp modules.
BTW DrakConf tools show no loaded module list or any info on those. I checked services but all looks correct there with all services configured to start at boot up.
any help would be appreciated
(i do have to get back to actually using my computer soon)

i have my pppd started thru /etc/inittab so that it won't be unloaded if failed to connect for more than 10 times
