PPP interface won't come up
I'm new to this New to this forum, and Linux.
I am trying to run Knoppix 3.7 .
My computer has an AMD Sempron 1.2GHz
1GB of memory 333mhz

SIS964L Southbridge
WDC WD40BB-22JHAQ Hard drive
Best Data V.92/.44 56K external serial modem
The Modem dials , and then for about 20 seconds the message Logging on to Network appears, and then, the message "Timeout Expired while waiting for PPP interface to come up. Been about 2wks on this problem

you may have to check your server type in the connection. You can check your KPPP settings (Assuming it is the your dialer software) and configure it accordingly. Also, check your authentication settings.
These can be viewed in Windows XP/2000 if u use them for dialing to your ISP.
