I'm trying to get my Aironet 352 working in Slackware (newest version). I've set it up many times in Linux, so I don't understand why I just can't get it working. My goal is to use the drivers from pcmcia-cs. Here's what I've done:

1. compiled a new kernel without the Aironet drivers
2. installed (successfully) the pcmcia-cs package
3. messed with the /etc/pcmcia/config.opts file

Here's the trouble:
When I run cardctl ident, i get:

Socket 1:
product info: "Cisco Systems", "350 Series Wireless LAN Adapter"
manfid: 0x015f, 0x000a
function: 6 (network)

and after inserting the card, dmesg gives :

airo: Probing for PCI adapters
airo: Finished probing for PCI adapters
airo: Doing fast bap_reads
airo: Max tries exceeded when issueing command
airo: Max tries exceeded when issueing command
airo: MAC could not be enabled
airo: Max tries exceeded when issueing command
airo: Max tries exceeded when issueing command
airo: Max tries exceeded when issueing command
airo: Max tries exceeded when issueing command
airo: Max tries exceeded when issueing command
airo: Max tries exceeded when issueing command

The upshot is the computer loads the airo and airo_cs modules and ifconfig gives me eth1 associated with the card. But, iwconfig gives "no wireless extensions." This one is really confusing the hell out of me and if anyone has any advice it would be greatly appreciated.
