finding Linx box on Win 2k Domain
Hi
Could anyone help with this problem? Im in desperate need! I need to be able to find a list of all the machines my network using a java program. The network is a win 2k domain and so far i can pick up all the windows machinces using 'net view'. I thought that once i had added my redhat 9 machine to the win 2k domain, the 'net view' command would pick it up but it doesn't!
does anyone have any ideas?
thanks

Did you setup and start your SAMBA server? It's needed even if you do not plan to share files from your Linux, since it is in the Samba server where the SMB-browser announcing exists, and whitout it you will not be able to see your Linux host within your Win2K domain. Btw, you have to tell the Linux box which domain/workgroup you intend to exist and announce within as well.
