    Setting up SpeedTouch ADSL USB for Suse 9.3



    ive already scanned through a few sites and forums, but i cant seem to be able to set up my intenet connection. I got the green SpeedTouch ADSL USB modem. I've already set up the DSL and stuff..but when I try to connect using KInternet...I get an error saying: "pppd[0] died: pppd options error" or something like that. Anyone help me?

    this is my log script:

    SuSE Meta pppd (smpppd-ifcfg), Version 1.58 on linux
    Status is: disconnected
    trying to connect to smpppd
    connect to smpppd
    Status is: disconnected
    Status is: lurking
    Status is: disconnected
    pppd[0] died: pppd options error (exit code 2)


    hmm...lurking?..damn it i dont want it to lurk. what does that mean anyway for the status to lurk?

    oh and if i were to install and use KPPP (which i might)...i cant. it gives me an error whenever i load up KPPP:

    "you dont have sufficient permission to run
    /usr/sbin/pppd
    Please make sure KPPP is owned by root and has a SUID bit set."

    so uh...how do i make sure KPPP is owned by root and has a SUID bit set?
